Rotator performed better in the Bronco Bounty Hunters bracket, defeating three opponents to earn the right to fight Bronco, whom it defeated to win a portion of the $25,000 prize. Rotator had a rough run as last season's "Kingslayer", going 1-2 in the qualifying rounds (despite suffering a highly controversial loss to Beta in the first and lost a hard fought battle against Valkyrie in the second) but still made it into the Championship Tournament where it defeated rookie JackPot in the Round of 32 but lost to eventual champion End Game in the Round of 16. Though most of the photos thus far have only shown Rotator with one disc, Victor Soto confirmed in an episode of “Tale of the Tape” that they do have the signature double disks. Sadly, despite beating the feared Tombstone, Rotator fell short after losing a side of drive in an important play-off match against Blacksmith.įor Season 5, Rotator was largely unchanged for the most part, but had a few cosmetics like black lines down its wheelguards similar to circuitry patterns due to the wheel axle holder, little orange and orange LED lights positioned right next to the castor, and a remodeled disc spinner. Rotator had also gained what the team calls the "forks/scrapers" configuration, of which was used in three of its five matches against wedges and vertical spinners. Due to the carnage done to Icewave, it received the "Most Destructive Robot" award for 2018.įor Season 4, Rotator received even more upgrades like new tires, new discs that could spin faster along with new teeth to increase the damage they do, as well as new, curvier armor panels for the front and back. It did much better, making the top sixteen and upsetting Icewave before falling to the former, and soon to be re-crowned champ, Bite Force in the quarterfinals. It didn't do well in its debut as it lost its first & only match to Witch Doctor, but did win an exhibition rumble.įor Season 3, Rotator was given new tires which gripped the rims better, some new LED lights, the logos were now painted on both ends of the robot and one of the discs can be swapped out to add a thicker titanium plow and wheel guards.

Rotator was originally an alternate for the show, but was allowed in due to one of the many drop-outs which occurred at Season 2. It was armed with a spinning disc on the front top and bottom rear, making it a palindrome like its name. Rotator (stylized as ROTATOЯ) is a heavyweight robot that competed in every season of the BattleBots reboot since ABC Season 2.
